WHY should I own a Bug-Out Bag?

When it comes to any kind of disaster, an emergency bag is essential. Weather-related disasters, man-made events or personal emergencies all require proper planning and supplies. People who are unprepared panic and when they do, make poor decisions. IF you have supplies and a basic plan in place, you can make smart decisions for yourself and your family.

If I’ve learned anything in life, it’s nothing goes exactly as planned. Prepping is preparing for the unexpected. We all purchase insurance for emergencies- home, life and car insurance that are paid monthly and we even celebrate when we never have to use them! Building a Bug-Out bag is like survival insurance- It’s a bag that covers you in the event of an emergency. It’s the first and most basic item you can own that covers multiple different scenario’s. There are a few different terms people use- Some use the Bug Out Bag term, some use Go-Bag or just the general Emergency Bag… It doesn’t matter what you call your bag, as along as you have one.

I personally never leave home without my bag- I keep it in my car, along with other supplies, in the event of an emergency. Every member of our family has one and each has been “personalized” to fit our different needs, driving habits and schedules.

We are living in unprecedented times and it’s important that we adapt. I hope you take the first step in preparing!
